I love taking photos of flowers. I have not taken as many for this collection, but I plan on taking more. I focused on smaller flowers so that the frame was not overwhelmed.

The photo of White Flowers was like finding stars clustered among the leaves. In color the contrast of white with the verdant green makes the presence of the flowers prominent. The eye-catching combination grounds the photo without distractions.

When I transformed the same photo into black and white into White flowers II, the flowers took on a new life. The reduction of color has the eye trace the shape and composition even more. Shape and line fashion the subjects into the abstract even though this is a realistic photograph.

Examining them in detail made me concentrate on the art form itself and how it can transform real objects into different perspectives. Both are lovely examples of flowers that I was glad to capture.
